2. Information We Collect

- Email address
- Phone number
- Login credentials (username and encrypted password)
b. Financial & Tax Data
- Income, expense, and tax figures you enter manually
- Payslip data scanned via the AI Payslip Scanner
- Tax calculation inputs and outputs
- Subscription and payment status
c. Device & Technical Information
- Device type and operating system
- IP address
- Browser type
- App usage statistics and crash reports
- Cookies and analytics data (website only)
d. Data You Choose to Share
- Bank statement CSV files (imported by you for cash book features)
- Documents uploaded for AI scanning
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide income tax calculations and financial tools
- Generate downloadable tax reports and schedules
- Manage your account, subscription, and payments
- Send important service and tax deadline notifications
- Improve app performance, security, and user experience
- Respond to support requests and inquiries
- Comply with legal obligations under Sri Lankan law
4. Data Storage
- All financial and tax data you enter in the mobile app is stored locally on your device by default
- Nothing is uploaded to our servers without your explicit consent
- Account and subscription data is stored securely on our servers
- Bank CSV files you import are processed locally and not transmitted
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties.
We may share limited data only with:
- Payment gateways (e.g., PayHere) to process subscription payments
- Cloud hosting providers to maintain our servers and services
- Legal authorities if required by Sri Lankan law or court order
- Chartered Accountants within GDP Consultants for AITR filing services (Premium subscribers only, with your consent)
All third-party partners are contractually required to maintain confidentiality and not use your data for any other purpose.
6. Permissions Used by the App
The TaxCalc LK app may request the following device permissions:

- Secure authentication and encrypted password storage
- Restricted internal access to user data
- Regular security monitoring
No online system is 100% secure. Users acknowledge and accept this inherent risk when using digital services.
8. Data Retention
We retain your data only as long as necessary for:
- Active account and subscription maintenance
- Legal and regulatory compliance under Sri Lankan law
- Resolving disputes or enforcing agreements
